PORTLAND – Greg Thompson, 41, of Bridgton, died suddenly Thursday, July 29.

Born in Lincoln, Jan. 23, 1963, the son of Cyrus and Verdene “Skip” Thompson and graduated from Oxford Hills High School Class of 1981.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1982-1985. He enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, and was a sports enthusiast and an avid Miami Dolphins fan.

On Jan. 7, 1999, he was blessed with the birth of his first child, Ryan Samuel, who brought him endless joy and tremendous sense of pride. He and Ryan had a truly special bond and became instant best friends. Although their time together on earth was short, he will always and forever keep his loving eyes on Ryan from above until they may be together again in the house of the Lord.

He was eagerly anticipating the joy of having another child in his life. He was a protector, a provider, a loving father, son, and brother.

He is survived by his son, Ryan, of Bridgton; his parents, of Oxford; a brother and friend, Cyrus “Tom” Thompson III, of New Gloucester; Joeanna Nee, companion and mother of Ryan of Bridgton; special lifelong friend, Gail Yeaton, of New Gloucester.

He was predeceased by his Nana, Daisy Mulligan in 1988 whom he loved dearly. They shared many joyous memories and a bond seldom attained, may they rest in peace together.
