CASCO – Thomas E. Bubier of Casco passed away at home Wednesday morning, July 28, in the arms of his loving wife Shirley, unexpectedly after a short battle with lung cancer.

He was born June 14, 1942, in Auburn. He had worked at Pioneer Plastics, Panolam Industries for the past 37 years. “Tom” was an avid hunter, fisherman, skier and snowmobiler, who brought home many more stories than trophies.

He will be greatly missed and remembered always by his family and many friends for his never-ending advice. Many fond memories of camping, canoeing the Saco River, boating and watching his grandchilden’s various games and activities. He will never be forgotten.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Smith-Bubier, of Casco; three children, Lori Marschall and husband, Ben, of Turner, Darcey Bubier and wife, Karin, of Auburn, Trena McKenzie and husband, Rick, of Minot; two stepchildren, Brenda Dionne and husband, John, of Casco, Ray Smith and wife, Jamie, of Windham; 11 grandchildren, Nick and Ashlee Harrington, Kelsea Marschall, of Turner, Kailey and Kobe Bubier, of Auburn, Krista and Ross MacKenzie, of Minot, Hunter, Colby and Isabelle Dionne, of Casco, Bradley Smith, of Windham; his brother, Walter “Scram” Bubier and wife, Margie, of Sabattus; a sister, Nancy Cote and husband, Ron, of Auburn; a sister-in-law, Betty Bubier, of Auburn; brother-in-law, Harvey Chadbourn, of Auburn; brother-in-law, Omar Dumont, of Auburn; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Edith “Nason” Bubier; a brother, Manley Bubier, of Auburn; two sisters, Carolyn Dumont, of New Gloucester, Shirley Chadbourn, of Lewiston. There will be further notification of any service held.
