GORHAM, N.H. – The “Wednesday Night With A Ranger” program will have White Mountain National Forest presentation: “Fire in the Forest” at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Appalachian Mountain Club’s Pinkham Notch Visitor Center, Route 16. Is fire in the forest a friend or a threat? Find out what’s up with smoke and fire in the White Mountains. Presented by fire management technician Chris O’Brien. This is free and open to the public. Bean hole supper

RUMFORD CORNER – A bean-hole bean supper will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, at Blazing Star Masonic Lodge on Route 2. The menu includes beans, hot dogs, cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni salad, bread, coffee, punch and pie. There will be settings at 5 and 6:15 p.m. and takeouts will be available. Free legal clinic

MEXICO – Attorney Paul R. Dumas Jr. will offer a free legal clinic for those who would like to meet with a Maine Bar qualified and licensed attorney to discuss any legal problems or questions. It will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, and Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 225 River Road, Mexico. Dumas has been in practice in the Mexico-Rumford area for 31 years and is knowledgeable in many area of Maine Law including personal injury actions, landlord tenant, elder law,and other areas of interest and concern to rural Maine citizens.
