LEWISTON – The Lewiston Public Library will host Music Together, a music and movement program for newborns and preschoolers, at 10 a.m. Thursdays, Aug. 12 and 19. The program is limited to 20 families with children from birth to age 4. Tickets can be picked up free at the library starting Tuesday, Aug. 2. Each program is expected to last about half an hour. Grange picnic
WINTHROP – Winthrop Grange 209 will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, for its annual picnic at the Grange Hall on Old Lewiston Road. State Master Steven Verrill of Poland will be the honored guest and will present certificates for longtime Grange service. Irma Folsom of Monmouth will be presented a 75-year certificate. Grange supper
LIVERMORE – Androscoggin Pomona Grange 1 will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 4, for a 6:30 p.m. supper at New Norland Grange 580, East Livermore. A business meeting will follow at 7:30. The program, under the direction of the Agriculture Committee chaired by State Deputy William Hatch, will feature speaker John Nutting, who is running for State Legislature. Shaker events
NEW GLOUCESTER – August events are announced at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village.
A woodworking workshop will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7. Learn how to make a frame and panel door in a class led by Chris Becksvoort, woodworker. Special tools are required. Cost is $25.

WINTHROP – The annual meeting of the Annabessacook Lake Improvement Association will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Augusta West Campground. There will be a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. followed by a business meeting at 9. There will be door prizes and a raffle for scholarship fund.
Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on July 27 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Nancy Lindgren and Lucille Theriault; second, David Lock and Luke Merry; third, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau; fourth, Martine Begert and Rosemarie Goodwin; fifth, Eleanor Abraham and Mary Leahey.
Flight B winners were: first, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau; second, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer. Flight C winners were Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer. Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the center. A partner is guaranteed.
The club also met on July 28 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: tie at first, Pat Quinn and Mary Leahey with Richard Horne and Nancy Lindgren; third, Ray Sirois and John Hackett. Flight B winners were Luke Merry and Larry Fortier.
