DIXFIELD – On Saturday, Aug. 14, the second annual Dixfield Baseball Bash will be held. Festivities will commence at 9 a.m. in Harlow Park. The rain date is Sunday, Aug.15.

Speed running, throwing for distance and accuracy, speed throwing, throwing at a target, and a home run derby are the events. Participants will be in the following groups: T-ball girls and boys, Farm League girls and boys, Little League girls and boys, Babe Ruth girls and boys, American Legion-age girls and boys, and adult women and men.

Contestants are urged to bring their gloves and bats. Certificates for the first three places in each event will be awarded.

The event is open to residents in Andover, Canton, Carthage, Dixfield, Mexico, Peru, Rumford and surrounding towns.

PERU – The Demerritt Cemetery Association has been revived and is seeking new members. Lots are being repaired, and a caretaker has been hired.

Association members don’t have to be Peru residents.
