FARMINGTON – The Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is offering an opportunity to purchase engraved stones for the hospital’s new Memorial Stone Path in the Healing Garden.
Each stone will become a permanent part of the Healing Garden as a memorial to a loved one or friend.
The Healing Garden, behind the hospital, is beginning to take shape this summer and will enhance the campus. It is expected to positively affect the spirits of the patients whose rooms overlook the garden and their families.
The garden provides a natural, meditative environment where patients, families, health care providers and the community can facilitate in the healing process.
The cost of each engraved stone is $50. Proceeds are being used to help establish the garden and support the hospital and community with worthwhile projects.
“This an opportunity to remember loved ones who have passed on,” said Millie Whittier, an auxiliary member and chairwoman of the Memorial Stone Path Committee. “It’s also a chance to honor those special people in our lives who are still with us.”
Auxiliary member Emily Floyd and her family has already purchased three stones. “Franklin Memorial Hospital has meant so much to our family,” said Floyd. “To purchase stones to remember friends and family and become a permanent part of this garden was the right thing to do.”
Brochures with ordering information are available in the hospital gift shop.
