OXFORD – Police have not found an armed robber who on Thursday held up a Citgo gas station at Oxford Plaza on Route 26.

“I’m still trying to track my suspect down,” Oxford Police Sgt. Rickie Jack said Monday. Jack said he plans to devote time to the case early this week.

No one was injured in the robbery, which police believe was carried out by a white man who weighed about 160 pounds and stood 5-feet, 10-inches tall.

According to police, the man approached the attendant at the Citgo station at 9:40 p.m. Thursday. He flashed a gun, locked the attendant in the bathroom and took $700 in cash from the gas station safe, police said.

The station attendant was able to dial 911 from the bathroom, police said.

In addition, an outside witness followed the robber’s vehicle from the scene and recorded the license plate number.
