DUDLEY, Mass. (AP) – A high school English teacher pleaded innocent Monday to charges that she had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Amber Jennings, 30, of Sturbridge, a teacher at Shepherd Hill Regional High School was arraigned in Dudley District Court before District Court Judge Neil G. Snider.

She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and granted a continuance to Oct. 26. The judge ordered her not to have any contact with or go within 100 yards of the alleged victim, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported.

Jennings faces a charge of inducing a minor under 18 “to have unlawful sexual intercourse” and disseminating obscene matter to the youth.

A spokesman for Worcester District Attorney John J. Conte said the allegations involved a 16-year-old student.

Jennings’ phone number in Sturbridge was unlisted.
