SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) – Former Gov. Howard Dean is trading on his celebrity status to win the hosting duties for a weekly television talk show over the weekend.

Dean is scheduled to host “Topic A With Tina Brown” Sunday on the CNBC cable network.

Dean’s new organization, Democracy for America, announced that Dean would be discussing the upcoming election and electronic voting systems with Bev Harris, an author and activist, and California Secretary of State Kevin Shelley.

Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show” comedy program also will be a guest.

A discussion about race will include Tavis Smiley, a National Public Radio host, and syndicated radio host Tom Leykis.

The show airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on CNBC.
