RUMFORD – Selectmen will be updated on Fire Department projects and make appointments to several boards and committees when they meet Thursday.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Municipal Building.
Fire Chief John Woulfe is expected to describe the work being done on expansion of the dispatch room and the acquisition of new, enhanced communication equipment with funds provided through a federal homeland security grant of $34,000.
He will also update the board on construction of a temporary building to house the department’s new ladder truck.
Other agenda items include appointment of a town lawyer and appointments to various boards and committees, discussion of a request to remove a stop sign at Penobscot Street and Swift Avenue, action on a liquor license and amusement permit for DiConzo’s Ristorante, and reports by the selectmen and town manager.
The board is also expected to enter into a closed session to discuss a possible business venture.
