MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – A white powder in a US Airways plane ready to leave for Washington forced all passengers onto other flights Tuesday afternoon at Manchester Airport.
Authorities said hazardous materials technicians ran four tests, all negative, on the substance found on the 50-passenger jet. A sample was sent to a laboratory for further tests.
“It was the captain of the aircraft that found the substance in the lavatory,” Airport Director Kevin Dillon said.
That passenger and the others on Flight 3282 to Reagan National Airport were booked on other flights, Dillon said.
He said the FBI and the Transportation Safety Administration were notified.
