WALES – Samantha Mason graduated June 7 from Oak Hill High School, receiving the school’s George Mitchell Scholarship, given to one graduating senior from every public high school in the state yearly. Mason was also awarded the Oak Hill High School Teachers’ Alliance scholarship.
Mason was active in the Civil Rights Team, yearbook club and French club, and she was a guidance aide for several terms. This past term she was involved in the Oak Hill Mentor Program, where she had the opportunity to work in the fifth grade at Wales Central School.
Mason also enjoyed tutoring children from area schools in various grades for the past two years.
She will enter the University of Maine at Farmington this fall, where she will major in elementary education.
