WEST PARIS – The West Paris Historical Society held its July meeting at the Smith-Ring camp on North Pond. Members re-elected the officers for 2004-2005: president, David Ring; vice president, Charlene Ring; treasurer, Faye Abbott; and secretary, Elizabeth Jones.

It was agreed that the Aug. 16 meeting will be a barbecue at 6 p.m. at the museum. The society will supply the grill and those attending will bring what they want to eat.

The museum will be open upstairs for the evening so anybody interested in the history of West Paris can spend as much time as desired. It will be open to the public.

People wanting more information can call Betty Jones at 674-2507.

The society’s yard, hall and bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7. Members will sell coffee for the early arrivals and cold soda and steamed hot dogs for lunch. Cookies will be available for dessert.

More donations, clean and in good condition, can be accommodated. Members will pick up items. For more information, call Betty Jones at 674-2507 or Rebecca Stevens at 743-2333.
