JAY – An 11-year-old girl was bitten by a dog on Intervale Road.
The girl was running by the pit bull and the dog bit her on her right leg, said Larry Wright, the animal control officer. It left a black and blue mark and one small puncture wound, he said.
The dog’s 10-day quarantine ends Saturday, Wright said.
During the quarantine, the dog has to be kept indoors and only taken out on a leash.
The dog has to go the veterinarian on Aug. 9 to be checked out to see if its in good health, Wright said.
The owner was warned to get the dog licensed and have its rabies shots updated, he said.
If the dog had been off the property, the owner would have been charged, he said.
