AUBURN – On Thursday, Aug. 12, the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce presents its annual educational forum at The Chamber Breakfast.

Joan Macri, coordinator of Aspirations Programs, and John Bouchles, assistant principal of Lewiston High School, will present a program titled “Increasing Student Aspirations at Lewiston High School.”

The program will provide a brief historical overview of Lewiston’s educational system as well as a general discussion of student aspirations. In addition, participants will learn more about the Lewiston High School Early College Studies Program and its partners, Bates College, University of Southern Maine, Andover College and Central Maine Community College.

“The Lewiston School Department strives to prepare all students to ultimately become “college ready,” Macri said. “We are fortunate to live and work in a community with higher education partners who help us to raise the aspirations of all students by providing innovative early college options as well as post secondary options.”

The breakfast will be held at 7:15 a.m. at Martindale Country Club on Beech Hill Road in Auburn. The breakfast series addresses a variety of community, educational and business-related topics. Early registration is recommended. Registration is $13 for members, $18 at the door and $20 for nonmembers. For reservations phone 783-2249.
