GREENE – The fourth annual Greene Village Celebration, sponsored by the Greene Economic and Community Development Group, is in the final planning stages. The community event will be held on Saturday Sept. 11.
The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Greene Town Office.
More volunteers are needed. The day will be filled with old-fashioned family events, something for everyone from the pancake breakfast, parade, chicken barbecue, frog jumping contest, historical displays, music, demonstrations, information booths on community organizations and ending with a bean supper at the VFW hall.
Activities will take place from the Julia Adams Morse Library to Recreation Drive. The committee condensed the location to provide a more compact fun filled area for all ages.
Anyone who would like to participate as a volunteer or sponsor should call Carol, Sally or Annette at the Greene Town Office, 946-5146.
