Why did the Festival de Joie charge $9 to attend the festival when all others are free? I went down Sunday to have crepes and when I saw the entrance fee I had to leave. I had planned to eat, browse and purchase something for memorabilia, but the entrance fee took the food out of my mouth and did not leave me with much joy other than my maiden name, which is Joy.

I spent my breakfast money elsewhere and came home with change to spare to go dancing – elsewhere.

Is that entrance fee going to any charitable cause? If the volunteers don’t die off first, as the article in Saturday’s paper was suggesting, the whole event will do so on its own due to prohibitive entrance fees, and for what?
