John Kerry challenged America’s voters to “judge me by my record” in his Democratic National Convention acceptance speech. He then fast forwarded over his 19 years in the U.S. Senate.

While serving in the Senate, Kerry voted against the B-1 bomber, the B-2 stealth bomber, the F-14 Tomcat, the F-15 Eagle, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the AV-8B Harrier jet, the AH-64 Apache helicopter, the Patriot missiles, the Aegis Air Defense Cruiser built at Bath Iron Works, the Trident missile system, the M-1 Abrams tank, the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the Tomahawk cruise missile, according to the Congressional Record.

Kerry also said, “We value an America that controls its own destiny because it’s finally and forever independent of Mideast oil.”

While in the Senate, he voted against drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge no less than seven times.

Sen. Kerry also stated “We believe in the family value of caring for our children …”

The senator voted “no” to ban partial birth abortions, a rather difficult procedure for a child to survive.

Who can forget Kerry saluting and saying “I’m John Kerry and I’m reporting for duty”?

Kerry has missed 70 percent of Senate votes over the past two years.

The DNC in Boston was the week of the “extreme makeover.” But Kerry’s record is Kerry’s record. He’ll be pedaling hard on his $8,000 bicycle to avoid it over the next three months. But facts are such pesky little things.
