FARMINGTON – D. Pearl Brooks Hall, 75, of Farmington, known to many as “Aunt Pearl,” went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 6, after a long battle with cancer, with family by her side.

She was born June 11, 1929, in Wilton, the daughter of the Rev. Charles R. and Doris P. Brooks. She graduated from Wilton Academy and Zion Bible Institute in Rhode Island, receiving a degree in ministerial studies.

She devoted her life and talents to serving God and others in each place she lived. With two co-workers, she pioneered the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Madison.

She is also remembered for her musical talents. After the death of her sister, Grace, in 1966, Pearl willingly took on the responsibility of raising her sister’s five children.

She is survived by her two brothers, Robert Brooks and his wife Jessie of Wilton, and Charles R. Brooks Jr. and his wife Roberta of Aurora, Colo.; two sisters, Martha Robertson of Garden Grove, Calif., and Mary Jenkins and her husband Jim of Warrenton, Ore.; the children she raised, Brenda Bracy of Farmington, Rick Henry and his wife Judy of Rumford Center, Chuck Henry and his wife Jan of Gardiner, Mass., Harold Henry and his wife Naomi of Farmington, and Shirley Henry and her fianc Jimmy Dunn of Jay; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Grace; and her brother-in-law, James Robertson.
