LEWISTON – Gilbert P. Dupere, 63, of Main Street, Auburn, died Sunday, Aug. 8, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 17, 1942, in Lewiston, the son of Andrew and Florence Nadeau Dupere.
He worked as a mason all his life, specializing in concrete floors and foundations.
He was an avid fisherman, and loved hunting.
He is survived by his wife Patricia (Pare) Dupere of Auburn, with whom he just celebrated their 20th anniversary on Aug. 3; his adopted daughter, Patricia Ann Dupere of Auburn; his mother, Florence of Lewiston; two brothers, Lucien and his wife Gigi of Lewiston, and Normand and his wife Pat of Auburn; his stepchildren, Cindy Ali of Poland, Melvin Lagasse Sr. of Penn., Tammy Lagasse Doyon of Auburn, Tina Lagasse of Windham, Brian Lagasse of Auburn, Michael Lagasse of Auburn, and Wendy Higgins of Bridgton; several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two daughters, Cathy and Tammy Dupere; and by his father, Andrew.
