• Aug. 3, 11 a.m. – A River Valley Chamber of Commerce official reported that someone had stolen the “Welcome” banner at the Information Center on Bridge Street/Route 2. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime over the weekend.
• Aug. 2 – While attempting to locate a red car last seen parked near the Androscoggin River on Route 2 in Rumford, patrolman Daniel Garbarini instead located an old red Chevy Spectrum parked behind a building at the Ames Plaza. He learned it had been stolen from Gordon’s Used Cars dealership in Auburn. However, the car’s owner was not aware it was missing. But rather than retrieve the junk car, the owner told police to turn it over to a local salvage company, said officer David Bean. The car dealer also declined to report the incident, he added.
• Aug. 2 – A Rumford Parks Department employee reported that someone had damaged Hosmer Field, overturned and emptied trash cans onto the field, and took down a tent.
• Aug. 2, 12:45 a.m. – A Mexico policeman relayed a report of vandalism to Rumford police concerning a cemetery fence on Waldo Street. Eight slats had been destroyed. Damage was estimated at $50. Several young people were seen in the area earlier that evening.
• Aug. 1 – A Rumford resident reported witnessing a theft from a car parked on Maine Avenue.
“He said he saw a young male reach into the vehicle, pull something out and put it under his shirt, then run off toward the Rumford snow dump area,” Bean said Wednesday. Bean, who investigated the incident, contacted the car’s owner, and learned that her handbag had been stolen. The purse was recovered at the snow dump area, but a wallet containing no cash and medication valued at $33 were missing.
• July 31 – A complaint of several ATV riders crossing a posted Burgess Hill property, and reportedly damaging it, was referred to the Maine Warden Service.
• July 29, 10:40 p.m. – A Waldo Street resident reported that a man in a vehicle with Massachusetts license plates was watching children on Waldo Street and acting suspicious. Upon investigating, the man was arrested. Wayne Encarnacao, 45, of Wakefield, Mass., was charged with operating under the influence and was taken to Oxford County Jail in Paris.
• July 28, 11:48 p.m. – A driver on Lincoln Avenue reported that someone threw a liquid on her vehicle while she was driving.
• July 27, 10:45 a.m. – A man reported that someone had scratched the hood of his truck overnight while it was parked on Maine Avenue.
• July 26, 9:30 p.m. – An Urquhart Street resident reported that someone threw a rock through a window at 9 p.m. Subjects were seen running from the area. No one was located due to the delay in reporting incident. Damage was estimated at $100.

All of the following are to be arraigned on Oct. 5 in Rumford District Court:
• Tammy Bouchard, 33, of Rumford, on a charge of domestic assault, on Aug. 3. She was released on $300 unsecured bail.
• Peter J. Spadea, 29, of Dixfield, on a warrant for failure to appear, on Aug. 2. He was released on $500 cash bail.
• Corey A. Mawhinney, 27, of Mexico, on a charge of operating under the influence, on Aug. 1. He was released on $500 unsecured bail.
• Shon Ellis, 32, of Dixfield, on a charge of disorderly conduct, on July 31. He was released on unsecured bail.
• Timothy L. Gotto, 44, of Rumford, on a charge of disorderly conduct, on July 31. He was released on $6,000 surety bail.
• Brandon Kimble, 18, of Sanbornville, N.H., on a charge of operating after suspension, on July 30. He was released on $150 unsecured bail.
All of the following are to be arraigned on Sept. 7 in Rumford District Court:
• Brandon Windover, 30, of Mexico, on an Oxford County sheriff’s warrant and an Androscoggin County sheriff’s warrant, at 6:40 a.m. on July 29 on Route 2. He was released on $350 cash bail.
• Steven Morton, 19, of Rumford, on a charge of furnishing a place for minors to consume liquor, at 3:30 a.m. on July 28 on Essex Avenue. He was released on unsecured bail.
• Laurel McKenzie, 38, of Rumford, on a charge of operating without a license, at 9:27 p.m. on July 27 on Franklin Street. She failed to post $300 cash bail and was taken to Oxford County Jail.
• Matthew P. McCann, 18, of Rumford, on a warrant for failure to appear in court, at 10:30 a.m. on July 27. He was released on $250 cash bail.
