LEWISTON – A Look Good … Feel Better American Cancer Society program for assisting women who are faced with appearance changes resulting from cancer treatment will be offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Central Maine Medical Center’s Cynthia A. Rydholm Cancer Treatment Center.
A volunteer from the National Cosmetology Association will teach a small group of women how to apply cosmetics specific to their individual needs. Hair and wig styling will also be discussed.
Wigs are available through purchase or loan. Each participant will be given a complimentary bag of cosmetics made available through the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association Foundation.

Dow seniors
AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Alden M. Gayton Post 31, AL, Washington Street. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m.
After the meeting and a bag lunch, bingo will be played. Members are reminded to bring in raffle table items, and fresh garden vegetables are welcome at the raffle table.
Seventy-five members attended the club’s annual picnic at the American Legion Hall, on July 28. The luncheon consisted of salads and desserts made by members, and Lee Koss and his volunteer crew prepared and served hamburgers and hot dogs.
Activities consisted of games, card games and bingo. Betty Rogers of Harrington, Del., was welcomed as a guest.
Trip Chairwoman Evelyn Sawin stated plans have been finalized for the foliage trip to Hart’s Turkey Farm in New Hampshire on Sept. 24. Cost of $43 covers all expenses. Vigil committee
LISBON – The Maine Vietnam Veterans Vigil Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at VFW Post 9459, Route 196. The agenda will include discussion of POW/MIA issues in all wars and the POW/MIA Recognition Day. New members are welcome. Call 353-2152 for more information.

LISBON FALLS – Regent Sheila Desgrosseilliers announces that Burnt Meadow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the home of Florence Bohunicky. A program on “Old-Time Members” DAR Trivia will be presented after the business meeting.
Church concert
AUBURN – The Auburn Church of the Nazarene invites the public to a concert of family inspirational music featuring the Collingsworth Family of Burlington, Ky., at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15. The church is located at 38 Summer St.
Phil and Kim Collingsworth, along with their four children, will provide a concert of family praise and worship through vocal and instrumental music as well as audience participation.

Chorus rehearsals
WINTHROP – CODA Chorus invites all interested singers, high school age and up, to join them on Tuesday, Sept. 7, as they begin rehearsals in preparation for the annual Christmas concerts.
