NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – Rita F. Poulin, a resident of New Bedford, Mass., since 1957, died Sunday, Aug. 8, after a long illness.

She was the wife of Robert T. Poulin, and the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie Labelle Frechette. She was born in Lewiston in 1922.

She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

She was employed by Freeman Shoe Factory in New Bedford as a stamper.

Mrs. Poulin was a member of Association Canada Americaine; and was past president of the VFW Poirier Post Ladies Auxiliary.

She and her husband had been married 56 years.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Pauline Dube and her husband Richard of Fairhaven; a son, Richard R. Poulin and his wife Diane Bumpus of New Bedford; five grandchildren, Richard Dube, Timothy Dube and his wife Julie, Michelle Poulin, Danielle Poulin, and Bobbie Poulin and her fianc, Danny; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Angela, Kyle, Jacob, Jared and Naomi; one step grandson, Joshua D. Bumpus; a brother, Arthur Frechette of Sabattus; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Cecile Kirouac and Lillian Blouin.
