AUBURN – Auburn City Democrats will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Auburn Police Station conference room. A short business meeting will be followed with post-Democratic National Convention remarks by Aymie Walsh, executive director of the Maine Democratic Party.

Light refreshments will be provided. All Auburn Democrats are invited to attend, and all interested residents are welcome.

Auburn road closing declared

AUBURN – A stretch of Old Danville Road will be closed Tuesday while highway crews make repairs to a section plagued by frost heaves each spring.

Detours will be set up while workers dig up Old Danville between Danville Corner and Harmon’s Corner roads. Drivers passing through the area will be rerouted onto Pownal Road for most of the day.

Auburn Highway Department Supervisor Richard Keene said the work will be done on a short stretch between 345 and 399 Old Danville Road.

Democrats to meet in Lewiston

LEWISTON – The City Democratic Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Democratic Coordinated Campaign Office at 110 Lisbon St., the former Lamey-Wellehan store in downtown Lewiston. There will be a guest speaker from the Maine Democratic Party. All are welcome.
