BRUNSWICK – Everett Merland “Bucky” Bucklin,70, of Newell Brook Road in Durham, died Sunday evening, Aug. 8, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

Everett was born in Portland June 4, 1934, the son to Chester and Bertha Dyer Bucklin.

He was educated in Freeport schools having graduated from Freeport High School with the class of 1952.

On September 17, 1955, he married the former Marguerite E. Johnson.

He worked for L.L. Bean for 37 years where he retired as Facilities Manager.

Everett was a prior member of the Maine Safety Counsel Durham, Maine Planning Board and the American Society of Industrial Engineers and many other various industrial-related organizations. He attended First Congregational Church UCC of Durham. Among his interest was the time he spent at camp. He also enjoyed his garden, tractor, and attending auctions and flea markets.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marguerite E. Johnson Bucklin; two sons, Gary W. Bucklin, of Raymond, and Bradley B. Bucklin, of Durham; four grandchildren, Cynthia Bodeen, Seth, Paul, and Kyle Bucklin; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Courtney Bodeen; three sisters, Louise Grover, of North Waterford, Bessie Foss, of Waterville, and Judith Reidman, of Westbrook; one brother, Clayton Odlin, of Sebago.

He was predeceased by a son, Dale E. Bucklin, in 1997.
