• Aug. 8, 3:05 p.m. – A 27-year-old Rumford woman reported that she was the victim of unlawful sexual touching. Investigating Detective Sgt. Stacy Carter said the woman had been out walking about 11:30 p.m. Friday on the Isthmus Road when she reportedly accepted a ride from a man.
“During the ride, the male attempted to sexually touch the victim,” Carter said Monday night.
The woman, who sustained no injuries, was later dropped off by her alleged assailant, he said.
• Aug. 8, 8:45 a.m. – A Penobscot Street resident reported that a stop sign at Swift Avenue and Penobscot had been taken down, and needed to be re-installed.
Arrangements were made with the town of Rumford to take care of the sign.
• Aug. 7, 3:59 p.m. – A Crescent Street resident reported that an intruder was in her residence.
The suspect, described as a man of medium build, was wearing a baseball cap.
The incident remains under investigation.
• Aug. 7, 8 a.m. – A Franklin Street resident reported a rock in her living room and glass everywhere.
Two windows were broken.
• Aug. 6, 10:56 p.m. – A tractor-trailer sustained minor damages to the trailer roof when it took down power lines at 10:55 p.m. on Route 2 at the Route 5 intersection.
Evidence at the scene indicated that another vehicle had struck a utility pole there, causing the power lines to hang low.
The other vehicle then left the scene before the truck hit the wires.
• Aug. 5, 12:30 a.m. – A Dixfield resident reported that the windshield of her car had been smashed sometime between 10 p.m. on Aug. 4 and 12:05 a.m. on Aug. 5 while it was parked at the intersection of Route 2 and Route 5.
Arrests
Rumford
All of the following are to be arraigned on Oct. 5 in Rumford District Court:
• Donn Dyer, 57, of Rumford, on a charge of disorderly conduct, on Aug. 9. He was released on $700 unsecured bail.
• Robert L. Terrill, 20, of Mexico, on charges of criminal mischief and assault for pushing an officer in an attempt to flee, and on a warrant for probation revocation, on Aug. 8.
Bail was not allowed due to the warrant, and he was taken to Oxford County Jail in Paris.
• Mark A. Marston, 25, of Mexico, on a charge of disorderly conduct, on Aug. 8.
He was released on $150 unsecured bail.
• Bradley Veilleux, 22, of Rumford, on a charge of disorderly conduct, on Aug. 7.
He was released on $300 unsecured bail.

• A 14-year-old Rumford boy, on a charge of possession of tobacco, on Aug. 7.
He is to be arraigned on Oct. 5 in Rumford District Court.
