FARMINGTON – Louise Flagg, 90, of Wilton, died early Sunday evening at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
She was born in Portland, Oct. 14, 1913, a daughter of Leroy and Beatrice (Fitch) Cook and received her education in Wilton schools.
On May 25, 1929, she married Lincoln Flagg, Sr. at attorney Blanchard’s office in Wilton and they made their home in Wilton until his death on May 13, 1976.
Mrs. Flagg was employed at GH Bass for 21 years where she worked in the cement/stitching room. She was a member of the Wilton Senior Citizens, and the Wilton United Methodist Women, as well as Franklin Grange #50, Excelsior Pomona #5, State and National Granges. Mrs. Flagg enjoyed knitting and made numerous mittens that she donated to the Wilton Public Library for their auction during the Blueberry Festival as well as making mittens for Carmen Morey’s kindergarten class at the Wilton Cushing School.
She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and the outdoors.
She is survived by a son, Lincoln Flagg Jr. and his wife, Hazel, of Wilton; 4 grandchildren, Becky Tyler and her husband Glenn, of Temple, Michael Flagg and his wife, Karen, of Wilton, Thomas Flagg, of Wilton, and Heather Meng and her husband, Daniel, of New Sharon; eight great-grandchildren, Albion and Amanda Tyler, Allan-Michael, Brittany, Samuel, Alexandria, and Caitlyn Flagg, and Erin Meng. She was expecting a tenth great-grandchild in October.
She was predeceased by a brother, Harland Wing, in 1930 and a great-grandson, Dwight Allen.
