HEBRON – Hebron Academy has named Jill M. Silvestri middle school director. Silvestri will be responsible for all activities and programs involving students and faculty at the school, which serves students in Grades 6 through 8. She will also be responsible for coordination with Hebron’s Upper School.

Silvestri will be available to meet prospective students at a schoolwide open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 11.

Silvestri is an experienced school teacher and administrator. Most recently, she was director of counseling and assistant dean of students at Lake Forest Academy in Illinois. While there, she also taught psychology, coached softball, and worked in the school’s residential program.

Silvestri earned her bachelor’s degree in education and psychology at Wheaton College and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Connecticut. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She has specific experience with young adolescents in study skills, peer behaviors, leadership and transitioning to high school, and has shared her expertise at numerous parent talks, workshops, conferences and community panels.
