RUMFORD – A dance to benefit the Kali Calden family will be held Friday, Aug. 13, at the American Legion on Congress Street.Proceeds will help the family pay medical bills. The doors will open at 8:30 p.m., and the band Motor Booty Affair of Portland will perform. Cost is $10 per person, and there will be a 50/50 raffle and giveaways.

Truck, ATV event

RUMFORD – The Moontide Mud Run will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, next to Oxford Lanes on Route 2. The event will feature seven classes of trucks as well as a class for ATVs. In each class, trucks may run twice with two different drivers. The registration fee is $10. There will be a tech check on race day from 9 to 11 a.m. Trophies will be awarded, and there will be a cash payback. Admission to the mud run will be $8 for adults, with those ages 12 and under admitted free.
