FARMINGTON – The Farmington Elks will sponsor their second annual poker run on Sept. 18.

Motorcyclists will leave the West Farmington hall by 9 a.m. to ride a undisclosed mile loop, stopping to draw cards three times. After the ride, a spaghetti dinner and dance will be held at the lodge, with music provided by Jim Austin.

The group is now accepting early registrations. On the day of the run, registration begins at 8 a.m.

The $20 registration fee includes the ride, dinner, dance and a T-shirt. Proceeds from the event benefit the Maine Kids Cancer Program. Last year, the event raised more than $2,000, and organizers hope to increase that number this year.

Trophies will be given for the best and worst poker hand, as well as the closest guess on the mileage of the loop.

For more information or to pre-register, people may contact Dick Austin at 779-1622 or the Elks Lodge at 778-6761.
