DIXFIELD – A Dixfield man was issued a summons Monday for drug charges after an early-morning police raid.

Jeffrey Brown Sr., 39, of 4140 Common Road, was charged with cultivating marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is to be arraigned on Oct. 5 in Rumford District Court.

Officer Matt Noyes said police were initially tipped off by an informant to a possible methamphetamine lab reportedly being run out of Brown’s house. The informant also told them about marijuana plants allegedly being cultivated behind the home.

Based on that information, Dixfield police obtained a search warrant and executed it with assistance from Oxford County and Mexico police early Monday morning.

“We didn’t find any methamphetamine, but we found five 4-foot-tall marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia, and illegal prescription drugs in his possession that were not his,” Noyes said.

The drugs, plants and paraphernalia were seized.
