JAY – A Dunkin’ Donuts shop with a drive-through window and eat-in area is expected to open by Nov. 1, developer Terry Trask said.
Trask is renovating buildings at the former Latham’s filling station and car wash on Main Street.
The doughnut shop will be in the part of the building that housed the gas station’s convenience store, Trask said. He’s looking for a business to complement the doughnut shop, he said, such as a small restaurant.
An excavator removed a 12,000-gallon and a 15,000-gallon underground gas and diesel tank Thursday in front of the building.
A hairdressing salon is probably going to go into the former car-wash building, he said.
Trask bought the property at auction, he said, and plans to lease the buildings. He has been working on the project for six months.
He has added fill in the back of the buildings so there will be enough room for 15 cars to park, he said.
Trask Land Management is shooting to have everything ready by Nov. 1, Trask said.
