PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – She’s on the road again.
U.S. Senate candidate Doris Granny D’ Haddock on Thursday began her statewide campaign walk from Portsmouth’s Market Square, sent off by a marching band and about 100 well-wishers.
Haddock, 94, gave a speech that blasted career politicians.
“Professional politicians have just not worked out. Democracy cannot be hired out,” she said.
“It comes down to this – if you want something done right today, you have to run for Congress yourself – or at least send your grandmother.”
