AVON – Milton Ray Kelley Sr., 70, of Avon, died Thursday, Aug. 12, at his home.

He was born July 16, 1934, in Vienna, a son of the late Maurice R. and Helen (Ridley) Kelley.

During the Korean Conflict he served in the Army and the Air Force from 1951-1961.

He was a life-long self-employed woodsman, truck driver and mechanic.

He married Lorraine L. Pinkham, Nov. 26, 1964, in Weld.

He enjoyed Bluegrass music, playing the bass and banjo.

He loved family gatherings and was an avid gardener. He participated in and supported many horse pulls.

He was a member of the BPOE Elks 2430 in Farmington and the Maine Draft Horse Association.

In addition to his wife of more than 39 years, he is survived by eight children, Milton Kelley Jr., of Farmington Falls, Dorothy Kelley, of Freeman, Marlene Bradley, of Industry, Yvonne Graham, of Orrington, Pamela Powers, of New Vineyard, Cynthia Whittier, of Chesterville, Priscilla Bartlett, of Farmington Falls, Michael Kelley, of Avon; three sisters, Marie Young, Marilyn Barker, Hazel Burwood, all of Wilton; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Robert Kelley; sister, Priscilla Kelley; and grandson, Zakary Kelley.
