GLENBURN (AP) – Maine State Police on Thursday coordinated an aerial search in northern Maine for a single-engine float plane reported overdue on a flight from Pushaw Lake in Glenburn to Lobster Lake, north of Greenville.

The Maine Public Safety Department said the female pilot and lone occupant of the Cessna 172 were planning to follow the West Branch of the Penobscot River.

The plane was expected to return to Pushaw Lake by midmorning, and was reported overdue by the pilot’s husband.

State police notified various agencies, which sent aircraft to the area in search of the missing plane.
