LEWISTON – Lewiston-Auburn Toastmasters Club 1741 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the Bates Mill Complex, first floor conference room, 35 Canal St. The speakers will be Teresa Weeks, Erika Penczer and Joyce Kennedy. Table topics will be given by Don Miville.

Dance classes

LEWISTON – Irish dancing classes will start on Monday, Sept. 13, at St. Patrick’s Hall, corner of Blake and Walnut streets. Participants will learn to dance to jigs and reels. Beginners are welcome and no partners are needed. The class will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays. Cost is $3 a class. For more information, people may call 933-9761.

Bridge play

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Aug. 10 at the Multi-Purpose Center. North/south winners in Flight A were: first, David Lock and Jeanine Kivus; second, Martine Begert and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Anna Vitiello and Lucille Theriault. Flight B winners were: first, Ray Sirois and Ron Reynolds; second, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau. Flight C winners were Larry Holmes and Ann Keith.

East/west winners in Flight A were: first, Mary Leahey and Eleanor Abraham; second, Leslie Buzzell and Nancy Lindgren; third, Connie Reynolds and Claire Lyons. Winners in Flight B were: first, Connie Reynolds and Claire Lyons; second, Connie Simpson and Alberta Turner. Winners in Flight C were Nancy Ferris and Eileen Minnehan.

Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the center. A partner is guaranteed.

The club also met on Aug. 11 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: first, Don Smith and Katie Love; second, Richard Balian and Lucille Theriault; third, Richard Horne and Nancy Lindgren; fourth, Martine Begert and Jeanine Kivus; tied at fifth, Leslie Buzzell and Misha Tomic with Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin. Winners in Flight B were Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner.
