LEEDS – Franklin D.R. Brown, 62, a resident of Corvella Street, Leeds, died after a yearlong illness, Thursday afternoon, Aug. 12, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Aug. 12, 1942, in Skowhegan, the son of Wallace and Alice (Avery) Brown. He attended the Skowhegan schools. On May 2, 1968, in Skowhegan, he married Sheila Duguay.

He had been an employee for the town of Greene prior to working for the town of Leeds. He enjoyed going camping, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed many agricultural fairs and spending time with his family.

He is survived by three sons, James Brown and his wife, Elizabeth, of Virginia, Mark Brown, of Auburn and John Hanscom, of Auburn; four daughters, Trudy Brown, of Norway, Lisa Brown, of Hartland, Judi Bussiere, of Rumford and Carol Hanscom, of Leeds; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Liberty, of Skowhegan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Jeddy Brown.
