LEWISTON – The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to prepare for the annual Red Kettle Appeal at Christmas Campaign.

Drivers, vehicles, church groups, civic groups students, schools and anyone seeking ways to serve the community are encouraged to contact Capt. John Bennett at 783-0801 or visit the Community Center, 67 Park St.

The campaign helps nearly 500 families with toys and dinners through the holidays. as well as providing emergency and disaster assistance throughout the year.

LEWISTON – Oxford Networks is supporting the Community Little Theatre and Maine Music Society.

Oxford Networks was interested in supporting the work of the Community Little Theatre, which fosters the theatrical talent of many local children and young adults. The Maine Music Society, comprised of the Androscoggin Chorale and the Maine Chamber Ensemble, was chosen for its breadth of special events and concerts that promote an appreciation for music.

Wants volunteers

PORTLAND – The Cumberland County Extension Association is looking for a few interested people to serve on the Executive Committee.

The association helps support the University of Maine Cooperative Extension educational programs in areas of 4-H and youth development, agriculture and horticulture, natural resources, family living, food safety and nutrition. One of the major responsibilities is to oversee the county portion of the budget.

The committee typically meets on the third Wednesday every month, except on holidays, from 7 to 9 p.m., usually at the Barron Center. Executive committee members serve two-year terms beginning in September.
