FARMINGTON – The 19th annual Vining reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 22, at Wilfred and Janette Dunham’s home, 343 Davis Road. A potluck dinner will be held at 1 p.m. with a business meeting at 2. A program will follow.

White/Walker

HEBRON – The 16th annual Walker/White family reunion was held on July 31 at Hebron Pines Campgrounds with 28 family members present.

The senior member attending was Bernice Gammon, 85, of North Waterford. The youngest was Rachael Rushworth, 2, of Middlebury, Conn.

Family members attended from Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York as well as Maine.

The next reunion will be held on July 30, 2005, at Hebron Pines.

Easter family

NEWRY – The Easter family met at the Newry Grange Hall on July 31 for the annual reunion.

The noon meal consisted of grilled chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, casseroles and dessert. There were Easters from Maine, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Maryland and North Carolina.

The following day a breakfast-brunch was held at the Rumford Center Grange Hall.

Martineau family

STEEP FALLS – The descendants of Joseph and Blanche Martineau met for the fifth family reunion on July 24 at Acres of Wildlife. Joann Morin and Tina Hodge were hostesses.

There were 87 members from four generations. Joseph (Emile) Martineau, 76, of Rumford, was the oldest. Ashlee Stec of Tom River, N.J., granddaughter of Marcel Martineau, was the youngest at 20 months followed by Alison Noniwitcz of Greene, 21-month-old great-granddaughter of Irene Martineau Sinclair.

Leah Girardin was in charge of games. The children enjoyed arts and crafts, hide and seek, sticker tag, water balloons, sack racing and bingo. There was swimming, campfires, card games, playing guitars, singing and listening to the Boston Red Sox.

A buffet lunch included a large cake with Joe and Blanche Martineaus’ picture on it. July 24 was their anniversary date. The year was 1922. A poem was read by Marcel in memory of a departed sister, Pauline Martineau Blanchard.

Members came from Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Kansas, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and from Turner, Canton, Jay, Westbrook, Presque Isle, Standish, Dixfield, Rumford, Portland, Wilton, Greene and Gray. Joe and Carol Martineau will host the next reunion.
