LEWISTON – Lewiston High School Class of 1944 held its 60th reunion at the Ramada Inn on July 14. A social hour was held from 11 a.m. to noon followed by a luncheon.
Marguerite Longley Murphy welcomed the classmates, read the names of the reunion committee and held a moment of silence for departed classmates.
John Kelly spoke of the integrity of the classmates as he used magician’s rings to demonstrate his point. He mentioned what some of the classmates were doing.
Members attending the reunion from outside Maine were: New Hampshire, 3; Massachusetts, 5; New York, 3; Florida, 3; Connecticut, 2; Rhode Island, 1; Illinois, 1; Virginia, 1; California, 1; Alaska, 1; and Pennsylvania, 1.
Due to the interest shown, the committee met recently to discuss meeting again next year around the same time. The reunion committee was comprised of Irene Chouinard Biron, Arline Lonergan Stone, Muriel Morin Webber, Marguerite Sullivan Powers, Louis Martel, Avon Libby and Merle Webber.
