SABATTUS – Stanley W. Moore, 74, of 84 Webster Corner Road, Sabattus, died Friday, Aug. 13, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Lisbon, May 1, 1930, the son of Wendell and Ruth (Gurkdaunis) Moore, he joined the U.S. Air Force on March 2, 1951, and served with the 132nd Motor Vehicle Squadron. On Oct. 14, 1951 he married Jeannette Doyon in Lisbon.

He worked at Miller Industries, the former Bonafide Mills, as a master machinist and electrical engineer for over 50 years. He was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed working in his garden, fishing, hunting and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, his mother, one stepdaughter, Margaret Bubier and her husband, Walter, all of Sabattus; two stepsons, Raymond (Bud) Campbell and his wife, Sharron, of Lisbon Falls and Donald Campbell and his wife, Kathi, of Milford, Conn.; a sister, Annie Dube and her husband, Conrad, of Sabattus; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father.
