LIVERMORE FALLS – A return to last year’s double-run busing schedule will top the agenda for the SAD 36 Board of Directors when they meet in special session at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Street Learning Center.

Beverly Stevens, administrative assistant, reported Wednesday that the district does not have enough drivers to implement the one-run plan that drew many complaints made by parents at a public hearing last Thursday.

Because of that, plans are for school to start off with the same bus schedule and opening/closing times it had last year in all three buildings.

The district has lost two drivers since spring, she said, and with all the other demands on drivers, there just aren’t enough to make the new system work right now.

It may be reconsidered for the second semester, she said. She also said that, since everything will be the same, she assumes there will be no monitors on the buses as was planned for the single runs. The meeting will also include a report from the superintendent.
