MECHANIC FALLS – The 2nd District American Legion Posts and Auxiliaries will hold their annual outing beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Mechanic Falls Post 150.
President Edith Lemieux is requesting auxiliary members bring a wrapped gift to be auctioned off. This will be the start of proceeds for 2004-2005 projects. This money supports projects such as Special Olympics.
The auxiliary members of 2nd District, which involves Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties, are also going to be asked for a short meeting to cover the theme for 2004-2005.
Department President Jackie Raye’s theme is “Meet Me at the Ball Game” and the district team is Chirping Chickadees. The color is navy blue. The team will dress with navy blue caps, and t-shirts will be white with navy blue print. Chirping Chickadees will be imprinted on the back. This attire will be worn to all meetings, conferences and for the convention.
Dues will be going up Sept. 1 and are payable at the outing.
