STRONG – A man returned home around 7 p.m. Tuesday to find an intruder on his property.

Ronald Elliott arrived at his camp off Pond Road on Porter Lake in Strong and found a man identified as Benjamin Worthley, 23, of Strong where he shouldn’t have been.

Worthley fled on an ATV into the woods and was chased by Elliott, who later discovered that the winch on his four-wheeler had been tampered with, according to Franklin County Deputy Michelle St. Clair.

Worthley was described as having a distinctive tattoo down his neck clueing police to his identity.

He was detained a short time later on Main Street in Strong and charged with attempted theft and criminal mischief.
