LEWISTON – T. Lucille Sawyer, 87, formerly of New Gloucester, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, after a long illness.
Born in Gardiner, Sept. 26, 1916, the daughter of Edith Goodwin Poole, she attended Gardiner schools and was a homemaker for most of her life.
Mrs. Sawyer attended Highland Avenue United Methodist Church, Gardiner. She married Alvin L. Sawyer and he died in March of 1972.
She is survived by two sons, Brian L. Sawyer and wife, Margaret, of Oxford and Fenton A. Sawyer, of Melbourne, Fla.; a daughter, Sheila L. Emery and husband, Edward, of New Gloucester; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two half-brothers, Dana Leighton and Hazen Poole, a half-sister, Justine Dyer and her husband, Paul.
