MINOT – A man convicted of having sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl 10 years ago has moved to Route 124 in Minot.
The Androscoggin County sheriff’s office is notifying area residents and school officials that 31-year-old Eric Fickett has moved to this town from Poland.
In late 1994, Fickett was convicted of having sexual contact with the teenager while he was living in Norway. He was sentenced to three years in prison but was ordered to serve only 14 months behind bars.
Fickett served his time and was released. His three-year probation period has ended, police said. Investigators said Fickett is classified as a high risk offender. Police alerted the Poland community earlier this year when Fickett moved to Hackett Mills Road.
Now Fickett is moving to a home at 703 Route 124 in Minot.
“There haven’t been any problems,” said Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Detective Bill Gagne. “Because of the move, we need to alert the neighbors.”
Police are advising neighbors and others against harassing or tormenting Fickett. However, investigators are asking that anyone with questions or information call Detective William Gagne at 784-7361, extension 214.
