SAN FRANCISCO – Dustan Mohr allowed two runs to score when he dropped a fly ball in the 12th inning, and the New York Mets overcame a shaky return by Tom Glavine and a team-record six double plays to beat the San Francisco Giants 11-9 Saturday.

The game featured 10 double plays, 16 walks and three errors. But the biggest mistake was made by Mohr.

Just when it looked as if Giants reliever Kevin Correia (0-1) was going to pitch his way out of a bases-loaded, none-out jam with help from a sharp double play by first baseman Pedro Feliz and catcher Yorvit Torrealba, Mohr’s gaffe gave New York the win.

Dodgers 7, Braves 4

LOS ANGELES – Shawn Green hit a grand slam and a solo homer to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers past the Atlanta Braves 7-4, snapping Mike Hampton’s string of seven straight wins.

Jeff Weaver (11-10) won his fourth consecutive decision in a span of five starts, allowing three runs and eight hits in seven innings. With two outs in the first, he hit three consecutive batters with pitches – tying a major league record. But he escaped that jam and another bases-loaded situation in the fifth.

Cardinals 10, Pirates 6

ST. LOUIS – Scott Rolen, Albert Pujols and Mike Matheny each hit home runs to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 10-6 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Jeff Suppan (12-6) gave up five runs – three earned – and four hits in six innings as the Cardinals (81-42) moved to a season-high 39 games above .500 with their third straight win.

Astros 4, Cubs 3

HOUSTON – Jose Vizcaino and Jason Lane hit RBI singles in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Houston Astros won for the fifth time in six games, rallying for a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

Jeff Kent led off the bottom of the ninth with a single and moved to third when Morgan Ensberg reached on a throwing error by third baseman Jose Macias. Kent scored on Vizcaino’s single. After pinch hitter Mike Lamb reached on an intentional walk to load the bases, Lane singled to right, scoring Ensberg with the winning run.

Brad Lidge (4-6) earned the win. He struck out three in 1 1-3 innings and gave up two runs on three hits.LaTroy Hawkins (2-4) allowed two runs on three hits in 1-3 of an inning and took the loss.

Phillies 8, Brewers 6

MILWAUKEE – Chase Utley’s bases-loaded triple keyed a six-run eighth inning, and the Philadelphia Phillies rallied from a five-run deficit to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-6.

Geoff Geary (1-0) struck out two in a scoreless seventh inning to earn his first major-league decision. Tim Worrell pitched the ninth to earn his 15th save in 21 chances as Philadelphia won for the second straight night following a seven-game losing streak at home.

Rockies 5, Expos 2

DENVER – Todd Helton homered and Joe Kennedy won for the first time since June 20 as the Colorado Rockies ended a three-game skid with a 5-2 victory over the Montreal Expos.

Matt Holliday hit a two-run double and Vinny Castilla had a run-scoring double for the Rockies. Helton finished 3-for-3 with three runs.
