KILLINGTON, Vt. (AP) – A North Clarendon man was found dead Friday inside his vehicle, which was submerged in a sewage pond.

State police were called at 12:10 p.m. by workers at the maintenance building at the Sunrise Homeowners Association in Killington.

Police said Christian Hansen, 45, an employee from the maintenance building was reported and so was his vehicle. Co-workers suspected that the vehicle may have accidentally been driven into a sewage pond adjacent to the maintenance building.

The vehicle subsequently was found submerged in the pond. The vehicle was pulled from the pond and Hansen was found dead inside it.

The vehicle had been in the pond several hours before it was noticed as missing, state police said.

State police said the death appears to have been an accident, but investigation was continuing.
