LEWISTON – The wedding of Alicia Renee Parrott and Shawn Bradley Durgin was held at 4 p.m. on March 6 at the Bates College Chapel. Deacon Denis Mailhot officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Durgin is the daughter of Stephen and Priscille Parrott of Lewiston. Mr. Durgin is the son of Brad and Connie Durgin of Lewiston.

The bride wore a mermaid gown of matte satin with chiffon overlay on skirt and beaded lace trim. She carried a bouquet of white roses and greens.

Serving as maid of honor for her sister was Brittany Parrott and bridesmaids were Lisa Tocci and Traci Alden, friends of the bride, and Christine Strout, sister of the bride. Flower girls were Kaitlyn Doughty and Amanda Grenier, cousins of the bridegroom.

Mike Thompson, friend of the couple, performed the duties of best man and ushers were Steve Morin and Matthew Cote, cousins of the bridegroom, and Allan Monteith, friend of the bridegroom. Chad Strout, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn. The couple is residing in Santa Rita, Guam.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Lewiston High School and a 2003 graduate of the Downeast School of Massage. She was formerly employed at the Sun Journal.

The bridegroom is a 2000 graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School and is currently serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.
