NORWAY – The Child Health Center is accepting applications for Oxford County Preschool Enrichment Trust Grants. The grants, of up to $500, are to be used to develop creative early educational opportunities for preschool children.

The trust was founded by the Oxford County United Way to help preschools, town libraries and other public/private programs subsidize activities in the arts, literature, sciences, international cultures and other creative opportunities for young children. The mission is to support a broad range of enrichment experiences and expand early education enrichment activities throughout Oxford County.

Proposals will be reviewed and prioritized by the trust’s oversight committee, which will consider whether the activity is realistic, beneficial and provides children with enrichment opportunities that might otherwise not be available.

Past grants have been used to subsidize activities such as a Rick Charette concert, storytellers and puppet shows as well as to expand summer programming.

All applicants are required to submit an application, which may be obtained through the Child Health Center. This round of proposals is due no later than Sept. 1.

Anyone interested in receiving an application should call the center at 743-7035 or write to PO Box 199, Norway ME 04268.
